Nothing that I've done could make Him close the door...
I felt the love of God. It has never been so real. The warmth... the acceptance and confidence that He's in control of everything.
When I felt I was not doing enough... when I felt inadequate. He reminded me that He would never close the door.
Thank you Jesus :)

Everyday of my life, I will wait on You.
Jesus, only You will never disappoint. Only You will heal all hurts, all wounds and all pains.
Breathe, into my soul, spirit of God, fill my life with your presence.
Let me hide under Your shadow. I need refuge... I need to hide.
Fill my life with Your presence. Jesus, I want to weep in Your presence.

feeling a tiny bit discouraged. cos of some stuff that happened at work today.
apprehensive about the path that i will take after getting my A level results. I thank God that He blessed me with the grades I had desired since day 1 of my jc life. He's indeed amazing. :)
but what now?
most people who know me know that i desire to teach. i desire to help generations of students with economics, the subject i struggled with since the beginning of j1 and never really did understood till A levels (i hope... :) ) will i really make an impact? God gives to man the spirit of confidence and not that of fear. and i do hope that i will be exposed to more types of career paths so that i will make an informed choice.
God has placed people in my life. New people, new friends and new lives. i thank God for them. for they are indeed valuable ones. people that i will honour and willingly sacrifice my time for.
God, im not too sure what Your plans are for me. But i will trust.

its amazing. teaching, that is :)
on monday, Mr Neo gave me the opportunity to teach his class. While i might say that I would have preferred to teach macro economics, im glad i was made to teach the PPC and the concept of scarcity. it taught me to adjust and adapt. after all, its all part of the job. being professional is doing something in spite of your initial lack of confidence or even a liking for the topic. i managed to overcome my fear once i started speaking in front of the class. somehow, the fear disappeared just like that. my focus was to deliver my lesson properly. it was my very first try and it was really awesome. :)
Mr Neo commended me for my confidence and diction after the lesson and said that I should slow down when i speak. hahaa it was the normal pace in which i speak but i soon realised that its different when ure teaching. appropriate pauses have to be made.
there are so many things that i would like to do as a teacher. to help make their studying of economics easier, to help them work towards their vision in life. to help them realise that they have so much more potential that they realise sometimes.
yet, that one lesson made me realise how this is not so easy after all... it involves thinking on your feet, phrasing your words properly such that criticisms do not kill dreams...
im still finding my way.
Hopefully MOE will deem me worthy of the teaching scholarship:)

I recently caught onto this song: Where We Belong by Hillsong
There is no height or depth
neither life nor death
That can take me from all that I find
Here now in Your glory Lord
No others powers or love
The things of now or to come
Theres nothing on earth in this life
That could ever separate us Lord
Your love is never ending
To Your hands we surrender
Where all our sins are washed away
Your grace beyond reason
Has paid for our freedom
We're made alive in You
We run to Your throne
Where we belong
Everyheart will sing
That Jesus is Lord
Casting all else aside
For the joy of our Christ
Let Your glory fall
Our hearts are filled with Your fire
indeed we belong to Christ. as children of God theres no need for fear. His grace abounds in our lives. Hi mercy endures forever. Regardless of the struggles, He's faithful and true.

God's unfailing love :)
Unfailing Love by Chris Tomlin
You have my heart, and I am Yours forever.
You are my strength, God of grace and power.
And everything You hold in Your hand, still you make time for me,
I can't understand.
Praise You God of earth and sky, how beautiful is Your unfailing love.
Unfailing love.
And You never change, God You remain, the Holy One and
My unfailing love, unfailing love.
You are my rock, the one I hold onto.
You are my song, and I sing for You.
And everything You hold in Your hand, still you make time for me,
I can't understand.
Praise You God of earth and sky, how beautiful is Your unfailing love.
Unfailing love.
And You never change, God You remain, the Holy One and
My unfailing love, unfailing love.

MOE teaching internship...
i do not clearly remember when it was that i decided that i wanted to become a teacher. i do believe however, that God places people in my life for me to find out, to put passion into words and desire into actions. the reality is that i cannot imagine doing anything else. i wouldnt say that i have the experience to teach. but today, speaking to my civics tutor made me realise more clearly why i want to teach and that keeping my options open did not mean that i was betraying my passion.
theres a saying that "people who can, do. but people who cant, teach." that is perhaps a superficial understanding of what a good teacher should be. the job does not only involve teaching what is in the syllabus but also life lessons. it encompasses facilitating the students' process of self-discovery, to help them become more accepting of their capabilities and to help them understand that they can do so much more. its not about being their friend. its about being there for them without being labeled as one. it involves knowing when to stop hand-holding and when to push limits. its not just about lectures and tutorials - these things are tools used to understand the people entrusted to you in a greater capacity.
its not about I but them. its about being able to hide your own fears in hope of dispelling the fears in their hearts. be it due to an exam or insecurities about the future...
as a teacher, every word you speak forth counts. every sentence can create greater understanding and on the flip side, can also cause greater confusion. every question asked can set many minds thinking about an issue that matters. every comment can uplift or discourage.
having sat through many tutorials from a teaching intern's perspective, i must admit that its simply magical the way things work out in class. being a teacher is like being a CEO holding a general meeting for his staff. it starts with outlining the details of the meeting (the lesson), the expectations. subsequently, facilitating discussion and stimulating tired minds to get going. to allow questions to arise in the hearts of the audience. and finally, ending off with expectations for the future (the next lesson) :)
"you have to be comfortable with yourself," that was what my civics tutor said. so true indeed. to be able to convince others, you first have to be convinced about your capabilities. thats just the way i feel in cell group. when i can be myself, without inhibitions... i will just have to find my own teaching style... and be comfortable and confident in it. adjustments have to be made along the way, but thats just part and parcel of life. sometimes we just forget that life is about making mistakes and learning from them. sometimes, its easier to forgive someone else for doing you wrong than to forgive yourself for a mistake committed. well, we just gotta let these times become less frequent :)
i'm trusting God. in the area of my studies, in my internship and in the relationships i have with the people i spend time with. im trusting in His perfect plan, His good, pleasing and perfect will.
